Sunil Bharti Mittal Chairmen of Bharti Airtel has indicated a significant hike in tariffs soon.

Sunil Bharti Mittal Chairmen of Bharti Airtel has indicated a significant hike in tariffs soon. In an event, Mittal asked Airtel customers to "prepare to pay more". Mittal suggested that 16GB of data be exchanged for Rs. 160, users should get only 1.6GB. This means that Airtel is asking its customers for Rs. 100 per 1GB of consumption."You either consume 1.6GB capacity per month at this price point or you can prepare to pay a lot more," said Mittal in an incident, according to PTI.

"We don't need $ 50-60 (about Rs. 3,700 - Rs. 4,400) like the US or Europe, but 16GB per month is definitely not sustainable at $ 2 (about Rs. 160)." According to PTI, Mittal said that he is asking for Rs. 160 for 16GB of data was a tragedy for business. At this price, consumers should be given only 1.6GB of data. This means that Mittal expects consumers to pay Rs. 100 per GB. Currently keeping things in perspective Airtel provides 1GB daily data for 24 days for Rs. 199.

In future, Airtel may offer only 2.4GB of data for the entire validity period of this plan.Mittal says that the ideal average revenue per user (ARPU) should be at Rs. 300 per month is sustainable for business, and the chairman of Bharti Airtel wants ARPU to be at least To cross Rs. 200 in six months. "

We got a Rs. 300 ARPU is required, in which you are still at a low of Rs 100 per month with a good amount of data. But if your consumption is largely to deprive the network of TV, movies, entertainment and other important specialized services, then you need to pay for it, ”said Mittal. He made these statements at a book launch event of Bharti Enterprises executive Akhil Gupta.

The PTI report States that Airtel has seen an increase in ARPU to Rs. 157 in June this year, after it increased the tariffs last year in December. However, to reach a sustainable model, Airtel looks to increase the prices even further.
